As I Lay Dying ended 2011, the year of their tenth anniversary as a band, with an extremely successful headlining tour. The Decade of Destruction Tour ran November-December through the US.

As I Lay Dying are currently writing their fifth album and are preparing to enter the studio this April. The producer, title, art and all other details will be released over the next few months. Fans can expect to hear new material this summer as the band performs as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. also the bamd returns to Europe in June for some festival appearances and exclusive club shows! As I Lay Dying ended 2011, the year of their tenth anniversary as a band, with an extremely successful headlining tour.The Decade of Destruction Tour ran November-December through the US. While on the tour, the band captured live footage from several shows. The footage was edited by the band’s own Nick Hipa into what has become the band’s next video:Paralyzed. The six years since he’s parted ways with Korn have been fruitful for Brian ‘Head’ Welch Not only has the guitarist gone on to become a best-selling author, he’s also found time to co-found a ministry and kick start a solo career.

“I know a lot of you have been waiting a long time for new music from us, and honestly, so have we,” said an excited Welch this past summer. Last month, vocalist-guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, formerly of Korn, premiered his new single, Paralyzed, Now he’s unleashing the music video for the same song. Check out the clip below.

About the track, Head says, Paralyzed was one of the first songs co-written with Producer Jason Rauch. He came to me with the idea and we both dove into it until it was all there. Jason is really helping me get back to crushing riffs. My first solo CD was an experimental album so the riffs were definitely lacking. Zoiks! Online: You recently left your record label. Was that part of the delay with getting new music out?

Welch: For sure. It was just business. You know the music business is junk right now and my old partners…people panic when things go wrong. No one was really seeing eye to eye, so it took a while. We’re still at the very end of getting all that squared away. I released a song anyway, because I couldn’t take it anymore; I needed something new out (laughs). Continue reading »
