ChristCore the movie This could easily have been a scathingly sarcastic documentary that ridiculed the American Christian hardcore scene. The filmmaker was devout atheist Justin Ludwig, who was well known in Regina (southern Canada) for putting on punk and hardcore shows and being the singer for Kleins96. After rebelling against his strict catholic upbringing, Justin Ludwig was incensed by the infiltration of Christians into the hardcore scene. He vented his fury by writing the song, “F*** Christian Hardcore… This Is Hell.”

The film was delayed by the economic crash of 2008 and allowed Ludwig to do more research and re-approach the project on a more informed basis in 2011. He chose to follow Texan newcomers, Messengers, and the well-known missionaries, Sleeping Giant. Ludwig stated “For the most part the scene is very positive and full of lots of bands that are reinforcing messages, and so you can sort of understand why, if you’re an impressionable young person, how easily you could get swept up in a movement like that because it’s really intense and really positive and inclusive”.

“Between Here & Lost”, the debut album from Love And Death, the band led by Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, will be re-released soon as a “deluxe” edition containing as-yet-undisclosed bonus material. “Between Here & Lost” sold around 4,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 95 on The Billboard 200 chart. BPP _ Live at Freakstock 2012UK Christian Thrash band Back Pocket Prophet is preparing to perform their first ever acoustic set on May 18th at this years Meltdown Retreat. After being a regular staple for Meltdown over the last few years it was suggested that they do something a little different; so the amps are being turned down [slightly], the band will all be sat down [probably] and the singing will be in tune [hopefully].

Reynolds_FTodayMeltdown is a weekend residential retreat for people who enjoy their music hard, heavy or alternative in style. Which will take place 11-13 may in Cefn Lea Holiday Centre, Dolfor. 

The retreat provides a weekend away from home with like-minded people of all ages from the Christian hard music scene. The retreat starts at 8.00pm on Friday evening with the first of two evenings of live music. The retreat closes at 4.00pm on Sunday. With a great line up of bands, challenging Christian teaching and amazing fellowship.
