Jerry Gaskill_2015“Love And Scars”, the long-awaited sophomore album from legendary King’s X drummer Jerry Gaskill, will be released on Friday, October 30 via Rat Pak Records.

Jerry_KingsX_2013King’s X drummer Jerry Gaskill is “resting comfortably” in a hospital after suffering a heart attack during the post operation recovery while undergoing a minor medical procedure. As a result, he must undergo double bypass surgery within the next 72 hours.

In a statement the band says: ‘It is with a heavy heart that, World Entertainment and King’s X, unfortunately have to announce that during a scheduled minor procedure, Jerry Gaskill, has suffered a heart attack during the post operation recovery, and as a result must undergo double bypass surgery within the next 72 hours. Jerry is stable and resting comfortably in the hospital. Due to the circumstances though, King’s X has no other choice than to cancel all upcoming shows, and we hope that after Jerry recovers that we will be able to schedule make up shows in the future. pinnick_dougKing’s X frontman Doug “dUg” Pinnick spoke to MikeMcGuff.com about the state of his Houston-formed band plus his new projects like Naked, KXM, Pinnick Gales Pridgen, Grinder Blues and Third Ear Experience. Doug also talked about his recent health scare and how he’s doing now. Check out the chat below.

Pinnick underwent hernia surgery last July after avoidning it due to the fact that he didn’t have health insurance. He had toured, recorded and rehearsed regardless of his painful condition.

A GiveForward campaign to help raise funds for Pinnick‘s surgery was launched in the spring of 2013 and it raised more than $26,000 from 599 donations. Continue reading »
