In Vain 2012Norway’s In Vain will release its third attack of progressive extreme metal, Ænigma, on March 8 in Norway, March 15 in Germany and Austria and March 11 in the rest of Europe through Indie Recordings. The band’s most extreme work to date, it was mixed and produced by the legendary Jens Bogren [Opeth, Soilwok, Borknagar] atFascination Street in Örebro, Sweden. The cover artwork was designed by Robert Høyem.

‘In Vain’ Begins Recording Third Album, This Monday

Norwegian Progressive extreme metal band In Vain issued the following update: We enter the studio on Monday to start the recording of our third album. 8 songs will be recorded and we are very pleased with the new material. Stay tuned for more updates!

In Vain was formed by J. Haaland and A. Frigstad back in 2003. Their debut album was released in 2007, the metal world didn’t know what hit them. The Latter Rain was recorded in DUB Studio [Green Carnation, Blood Red Throne & Chain Collector] in the summer/fall of 2006. Continue reading »

Dark Prophets, Black Hearts, the new video from Norwegian progressive metallers In Vain, can be seen below. The song comes off the band’s sophomore album, Mantra, which came out in January 2010 via Indie Recordings.
