This is the sixth full-length studio album from the band from Nashville, Tennessee. It has been released on the 27th of October last year. They started back in 2002 when they were friends with a passion for music. Barry Blair, the drummer from Audio Adrenaline heard their music and invited them to record. The sound of the band is inspired by Linkin Park, Sevendust and Chevelle because they liked the emotional-driven music.

This album really follows in the footsteps of their album Of Beauty and Rage. The sound is still a bit of the sound of their first few albums, but is more infused with electronic music. The song Step Inside, the Violence starts off with a heavy riff. Than it gets slower but keeps the feeling of the song. The main sound at the couplets are drums and electronics. That makes a great contrast when the guitar part comes in. Also Still Alive is one of the heavier songs on the album. It starts off with a sound that reminds me of Throne from Bring Me The Horizon. It is kind of heavy sounding but it feels softer with the kind of pop sound. Though the bridge makes it sound kind of creepy. This song still keeps the heavy sound by the grunting of Barnes. beautyandrageThe past 11 years, the members of the band RED have been making quite a name for themselves. Their first album “End of Silence” was very impressive to say the least, and with their later albums, RED really improved their sound. Their 4th album “Release the Panic” was more experimental with electronic sounds and contained no classical instruments. The album was well received, though the fanbase was divided. After the release, the drummer Joe Rickard announced that he would be leaving RED, who has now been replaced by Love & Death drummer Dan Johnson. Fans have been looking forward to this new album for months now, and we’ll see what their newest album has to offer:

The first track “Imposter” begins with some background noises and a haunting bass line to gain the listener’s interest, which definitely works. Slowly the guitars and violins are join in. The atmosphere is somewhat darker than RED’s previous work, which really compliments the sound of the low-tuned guitars. The vocals also provide some contrast to the lower guitars. The violins in the background are really the cherry on top of this beautiful cake. Continue reading »

RED_Release_The_Panic_CoverThere is a bunch of music out there at the moment, and due to this if you want to shine above the rest you really got to bring something innovative, relevant and different to the game, or else you’ll quickly fade into the background. Speaking from experience this is far easier said than done. This brings me to Red’s latest offering, “Release The Panic”.

Formed out of Nashville, Tennessee in 2004, these ex-post grungers come metal rockers have not changed that much over the duration of their career. It’s not to say that they make bad music, or putting dispute to their skill ability, its just that for me they don’t match up to the hype that often proceeds a release. The band’s line-up consists of singer Michael Barnes, guitarist Anthony Armstrong, bassist Randy Armstrong and drummer Joe Rickard.  Continue reading »
