Death Therapy‘s debut album “The Storm Before the Calm” has been released on February 24th.2017 Solid State Records.
This industrial groove metal band from Atlanta, Georgia released their first full-length album last year. The most interesting thing of this band is that there are just two dudes in this band and there is no guitar player in it. Jason Wisdom, the vocalist and bass player is not an unknown name in the metal. He was the vocalist and bass player of Becoming The Archetype for twelve years. After a break of four years to care for his family he’s back with this band. And honestly, this shows that even with just a bass, drums and some vocals you can make amazing music.
It starts off with the calm song Until Then. It has clean vocals in the begin but it builds up to become something with a combination of calm and rough. Then when the next song plays, it’s a whole lot different. It has a groovy and deep bass-line. The most fascinating thing it the fact that the bass really sounds a lot like a guitar and makes up for the fact of mot having a guitar.
Death Therapy—which features Jason Wisdom, ex-Becoming the Archetype—recently released a lyric video for ‘Slow Dance (With Death)’ the track is taken from their debut album “The Storm Before the Calm” which has been released on February 24th. Solid State Records. The video can be watched below.
Started as the side project of Jason Wisdom, former frontman of Becoming The Archetype and no stranger to Solid State records, the project morphed into a full time project consisting of Jason Wisdom and Josh Seagraves. Death Therapycombines elements of metal with electronic, industrial, and post-punk influences
Dark Sarah (Gothic Metal from FIN), Death Therapy (Industrial groove metal from the USA), Wind Rose (Dwarven Metal from ITA), Sleeping Romance (Symphonic Metal from ITA) – have been added to the festival lineup for the 10th edition of Brainstorm Festival. The cultural rock and metal festival will be held this year on 3 and 4 November as usual in the Gigant in Apeldoorn (NL).
Check out the new promo video below.
** The arrival of Dark Sarah (FIN) may be considered as a big surprise. The band around ex-Amberian Dawn singer Heidi Parviainen performed in 2014 at the Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium, but after that show the performances were limited to Finland. Extra special is that guest singer JP Leppäluoto (Charon, Northern Kings) also will be there at the festival.. As previously reported Leppäluoto has joined Dark Sarah‘s lineup for the third album, scheduled to be released in 2018. Leppäluoto was also featured in Dark Sarah’s previous album “The Puzzle” that was released in November last year, playing the character The Dragon.
