Thumper Punk Records is stoked to announce the release of a Benefit Compilation of Surf Music to raise money for Santa Cruz based FleaHab. Founded by legendary big wave surfer Darryl “Flea” Virostko, the mission of FleaHab is to provide a sober living environment in Santa Cruz focused on physical activity, in effect replacing the high of drugs with the endorphins of exercise. Combined with a nutritional menu and access to sports, yoga and other holistic support systems such as AA, FleaHab offers a new approach to sober living – and new hope for those afflicted by drugs and alcohol. The lineup features 16 bands from around the world which have contributed instrumental surf music to support FleaHab:
Thumper Punk Records is pleased to announce the release of the “Angel City Cafe Benefit Compilation,” an album featuring 30 live recordings of fifteen TPR bands to raise money to support the great Christian music venue Angel City Cafe, in Bellflower, California.
The release celebrates the 20th anniversary of Angel City Cafe, and its outreach ministry to the homeless and underprivileged. Angel City Cafe remains one of the few places where Christian artists share both their craft and their Message. It also provides jobs, and the occasional meal and shelter, for the local homeless. It has roots in the community. It matters.
Participating bands (donating two songs each) include The WAY, The Lonely Revolts, False Idle, Christ’s Sake, Saint Hooligan, Peter118, The Poor Geezers, Ambassadors of Shalom, ABSOLVED, The Hoax, Platoon 1107, A Broken Line, uniSEF, True Liberty and Living Fire.
