As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis revealed last week that he had suffered burns to 25% of his body after a bonfire mishap. He announced the news on December 16th, stating on that day that he was scheduled to undergo surgical procedure to remove dead skin from the burns he incurred and had been hospitalized for several days at the time.

In an update shared last night, December 22nd, he revealed that he now expects to make a “full recovery” and described the the injuries he sustained as “the most painful experience of my life.” You can read what he had to say below

“The recovery from these burns has been the most painful experience of my life, but I’m told I will eventually have a full recovery. I have to remember that on the tough days and be grateful I have the chance to be back to doing what I love again soon, because that is not the case for everyone in the burn center…”

As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis is set to undergo surgery today after receiving burns to 25% of his body following a mishap with a bonfire. He shared the following about that earlier today, December 16th.

“Keep your head up no matter what! I’m doing the best I can to make a thumps up on my way to surgery (in about 30 minutes).

I apologize to my friends that I have not had the time to fill in yet on what happened. The entire gas cap fell off when trying to use a little from the trickle tip to get a bonfire started. Gas got all over my clothes and I ended up burning 25% of my body.

As I Lay Dying‘s planned North American ‘Burn To Emerge Tour‘ with Whitechapel and Shadow Of Intent has been cancelled. Previously booked for May of this year, the band delayed it to February of next year amid the Covid-19 pandemic. In a statement issued today, November 16th, As I Lay Dying commented of the tour’s fate:

“AILD fans,

This may not come as a surprise but due to the global pandemic and uncertain status of live entertainment, we’ve decided to cancel the Burn To Emerge Tour that was set to take place in February/March 2021 with Whitechapel and Shadow of Intent.

Lambgoat are reporting that guitarist Nick Hipa has exited As I Lay Dying. Citing a number of changes on the band’s and Hipa‘s own social media accounts (the two parties are no longer following each other), Lambgoat have apparently got confirmation from an unnamed source that Hipa is no longer in the band. Thus far an official statement on the matter has yet to be issued.

Last May, the band announced that its May/June 2020 “Burn To Emerge” U.S. tour would be rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The new dates will take place in February and March 2021, and will keep the same lineup with Whitechapel and Shadow of Intent.

The official music video for the song ‘Torn Between from California metallers A’s I Lay Dying can be seen below. The track is taken from the band’s seventh full-length album, “Shaped By Fire”, which was released last September via Nuclear Blast.

Last week, the band announced that its May/June 2020 “Burn To Emerge” U.S. tour would be rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The new dates will take place in February and March 2021, and will keep the same lineup with Whitechapel and Shadow of Intent.

Tickets purchased for the canceled tour will be honored at the rescheduled dates.
