‘Skillet’ To Support ‘Nickelback’ On ‘The Hits’ European Tour

Skillet 2013Two-time Grammy nominated rock band Skillet will return to Europe to support Nickelback on ‘The Hits’ tour” in October and November. ‘The Hits’ tour will be hitting various European territories, starting on Oct. 26 in France & the tour will end on Nov. 27 in the United Kingdom. Dates and locations are listed below.

Skillet‘s highly anticipated new album“Rise” has been released last week [June 25]. The music video for the album’s single “Sick Of It” can also be seen below.

“Rise” follows the band’s 2009 blockbuster, “Awake”, which was recently certified platinum for sales in excess of one million copies in the U.S. Skillet is the only active rock band to achieve platinum certification in 2012.

Of the new album, lead singer John Cooper says,

“Musically, this record feels like a roller coaster ride. Several tracks are aggressive with dirtier and edgier guitars. Korey‘s keyboards are extremely unique and Jen‘s great vocals are showcased throughout the album. There are some powerful anthems and what our fans tend to love, the “signature Skillet” songs: symphonic, classical rock duets.”

The band is celebrating the new album release by joining the ‘Carnival of Madness’ tour later this summer [Aug 13 – Sept 14], presented by Monster Energy. The coast to coast tour includes rock superstars such as Shinedown, Papa Roach, In This Moment, and more.

“I can hardly wait for the Carnival Of Madness,” says Skillet‘s  lead singer John Cooper. “Shinedown is one of the best bands in the business and we’re excited to share the stage with them and great performers like Papa Roach, In This Moment, and We As Human. Also, it’ll be our first tour playing songs from our new album, ‘Rise’, so Skillet will be doing our best to bring the pain every night!”
