Sad News From The ‘Bloodgood’ Family: ‘Jeff Carlsen’ Has Passed Away

Jeff CarlsenThey had just returned from Germany, for a performance at Christmas Rock Night with Bloodgood. If Les & Joyce Carlsen hear terrible news about their son Jeff. Below a message from Joyce:

‘For those of you who have not yet heard, my son, Jeff went home to be with Jesus yesterday afternoon. Les and I had just landed in LAX around 4:30pm, on our way home from Germany when we got the call from Jeff’s boss that he was in the hospital. We were still on the plane when we called to find out how he was and were told that he had called 911 with difficulty breathing. They arrived to find him unconscious and without a pulse and administered CPR for an hour, but they weren’t able to revive him. He had been sick and out of work since Friday. We found cold medicine by his bed, so he must have thought he had a bad cold. There was also a thermometer, so he must have had a fever.

On Saturday, he told his friend that his chest hurt, and he told Faith he was feeling sick. He was advised by several people to see a doctor.
His phone shows that on Monday morning he called Kaiser, probably to make a doctor appointment. Shortly after he called his work to say he wasn’t coming in. At 1:47 he called 911.

Needless to say, we are devastated. We know he is happy, alive and well in his heavenly home.  I will be putting together a slideshow for a memorial service at Water of Life Community Church in Fontana. The date and time are yet to be determined. We will most likely also do one in Washington for his friends and family in that area. We want to include as many people as possible in celebrating Jeff’s life. All we have now are wonderful memories.. If you knew him and have a story or picture you can share, please post them here.’

UPDATE 11-12: We are planning a memorial service this Saturday morning at 11:00 am at Water of Life Community Church, 7623 East Ave, Fontana, CA 92336. If you can attend… dress rock and roll! Jeff loved heavy metal/ hard rock music and was a hardcore Raiders fan.

  1. So sorry Les and Joyce to here about Jeff’s passing. I remember Jeff in his teens when Veronica and I used to live around the corner from you in Federal Way in the 80’s. Veronica was Romanian and worked at Meekers Landing, you may remember her? Your eulogy was absolutely perfect Les, Thank you for sharing. God Bless You Guy’s!…. Mark Yde
