Italian power/prog metal band Mettrone has officially announced the split up with the singer Jo Lombardo.

The band states. “After over 15 years Metatrone and Jo part ways as a mutual decision. Jo decided to focus 100% on his solo project and we want to wish him all the best for his career!”

Singer Jo Lombardo adds “After many years working with the band, 4 albums released and a lot of shows in Italy and abroad, time has come to focus on my solo project that allows me to get closer to melodic rock and AOR. This is the reason of my leaving: I could not guarantee to Metatrone a total focus on the next album and future shows.”

The band is currently working on the sequel of “Eucharismetal”: “We’re composing the songs of the new album with a new singer that we cannot wait to announce and introduce to you all!” comments the guitarist Stefano “Ghigas” Calvagno “The new album will carry on Metatrone‘s story and will not disappoint our long-term fans! Stay Metatrone, Stay Metal”

“Eucharismetal” has been released in March 2016 via Rockshots Records. Our review of “Eucharismetal” can be found here.
