Legendary Metal Band ‘Deliverance’ to Play ‘Exodo Fest’ 2016 Mexico (March 25th 2016)

Deliverance was founded by Jimmy P. Brown II in 1985, many members have either stayed in the lineup for a number of years, or left and returned to the lineup. Jimmy P. Brown II has been the only persistent member of Deliverance. Initially, the band played thrash metal band which later shifted more towards heavy metal and progressive metal.

Never say die! Deliverance, the veteran thrash band who’s styling’s also have taken them into progressive and alternative territories have opted to regroup once again with a new line up that finds former guitarist George Ochoa returning to the fold. Led by mainman and guitarist/vocalist Jimmy P. Brown II, this latest incarnation also features former Tourniquet bassist Victor Macias and former Crucified drummer Jim Chaffin. Following the release of their last album, “Hear What I Say” in 2013, the Big D was said to be all but finished and headed for retirement. However, speaking with Jimmy Brown at a private Christmas party on Dec. 13th. at guitarist George Ochoa‘s home in California, it was revealed to The Metal Priest that only the previous lineup has been disbanded and that Deliverance in one form or another, will probably never end. It was also confirmed that they have been writing and planning to release a new CD sometime in the not too distant future although no official time table has been set. The band were to perform a very late night set at the party but only lasted for about two songs before police shut the party down for noise ordinance violations, there were many bands throughout the night and Deliverance went on last. Fan-filmed footage of the song ‘Weapons of Our Warfare,’ shot at the party, can be seen below. The new material from the band is said to venture into uncharted waters with heavy influences from Rush, Dream Theater and Pink Floyd.

Ochoa was originally a member of Deliverance during their most successful point in history when they were supporting the “Weapons of Our Warfare” album. Following the breakup of his previous band Recon, Ochoa was asked to join Deliverance and remained with the band through their “What A Joke” release. Since leaving Deliverance he has remained more or less reclusive in his musical endeavors but has since, in addition to rejoining Deliverance, been working on releasing a new album of material under the name of Worldview, a band that contains former members of Recon and former Sacred Warrior vocalist Rey Parra. Their debut album “The Chosen Few”. The album was supposed to be released this fall, but the release is pushed back to spring 2015.

Jimmy Brown relocated back to southern California nearly a year ago which opened the door for the reunion with Ochoa, and is currently marketing a successful line of soap https://lavct.com/ that his wife created to help individuals who suffer from various skin ailments. Brown has also been hard at work with his other band Jupiter VI which released their new album “Face In The Sky” on December 16th, 2014.

Deliverance had planned an acoustic tour earlier in the year but due to a poor response from promoters they scrapped plans and are planning to do some full blown powered up shows in 2015. The possibility of a podcast has also been rumored to be taking place in the coming weeks.
