He is a born storyteller, and when he decided to pick up a guitar and put those stories to music, the sound that came out was reminiscent of his own musical influences: Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, David Bazan to name a few. His writing style is honest and engaging. We [Grrr Records] really love his work and decided that it was high time you heard it too!
His debut album “One of These Days” (Archive Records) was recorded and mixed by Ed Bialach of Glenn Kaiser Band and includes musical contributions by several others of our Grrr family.

Max Simmons, grew up and lives on the north side of Chicago. Known for his distinctive voice and bold lyrics.
Max started writing songs in collaboration with his sister, Ami, then branched out to write music of his own. Inspired by the lives of friends and family and his own personal experiences, he started writing stories about love, loss and faith and put them to music.
Currently apprenticing as a mechanic and working on his second full-length album, Max spends his free time writing new songs.
