Fan-Filmed Footage of My Silent Wake’s Show at Mauce.nl Festival Available

MSW_logo_2015On Saturday June 18th. it was time for Mauce.nl Fest. in celebration of the 10th anniversary of The Metal Resource, the festival took place in Almelo (NL) at Naxt Stage, the city where it all began 10 years ago.

Performing bands were: Pantokrator (SE), My Silent Wake (UK), The Royal (NL), La-Ventura (NL), Undawn (NL), The Memory Remains (NL) and Empire of the Wolves (NL).

My Silent Wake‘s roots lie in the death/doom band Ashen Mortality. Ashen Mortality were formed in the early 90′s in Halesowen, West Midlands [UK] and were active for a further 11 years. When the band split in 2005, three of the members went on to form MSW.The band was formed in the spring of 2005 in Weston-Super-Mare in North Somerset. Initially the band was created by Ashen Mortality co-founder Ian Arkley with other ex Ashen Mortality members.

My Silent Wake recently released a new version of ‘And So it Comes to an End’. This is their first release with Simon Thomas Bibby (Seventh Angel/Firefly) on keys. Simon Bibby joined the band last September. The song comes of My Silent Wake‘s album “Damnatio Memoriae,” which has been released on April 10th. 2015 through House of Ashes Productions.

My Silent Wake latest effort “An Unbroken Threnody: 2005 – 2015” is a remastered compilation of some of the highlights from ten years of My Silent Wake and is released Feb. 8 on cd and digital through Stone Groove Records.

Although sometimes associated with the ‘Christian Metal’ scene, mostly because of the association of Ian Arkley in Seventh Angel; My Silent Wake are expressedly not a Christian band. Some lyrical themes deal with ideas of faith and loss of faith, but in deeply personal ways, and more universally, rather than obivously …
