Dave Williams – “In Tune” book (for Christians in music ministry)

In Tune training course Dave Williams is the Director of Meltdown Music Ministries (UK), an internationally recognised music ministry with over thirty years experience. Next year will be the 25th anniversary of the Meltdown conference. As well as organising the conference, Dave has also managed bands, organised youth events and ran a stage at Greenbelt (UK music and arts festival). His book is designed as a training course for Christians considering a music ministry within the contemporary music scene. It takes a step-by-step approach from discerning your calling through to your ultimate aims.

Dave stated “This book not only looks at surrendering your music ministry to God, but also looks at how to present Jesus to your audience in a culturally relevant way”.

The book will not teach you how to tune your guitar, but it will instruct you in the way to interact within your band and with your audience. This applies from the grass roots, when only a handful of people turn up to see you play, and moves through to larger events. It also provides tips of how to handle yourself along the way. The teaching is theologically based and readers can take comfort in the fact that Meltdown is accredited by the Evangelical Alliance.

There is also a downloadable workbook which is available from meltdownmusic.co.uk/In-Tune.htm . This will help you to examine all the stages from initial motivations to becoming musical missionaries. Together with the book it makes an essential tool for anyone involved in Christian music ministry.
