On November 23, 2019 the third edition of Metalpraise will be held in Bonfire, Dordrecht (the Netherlands).

Metalpraise is organised bij Metalforce, an organisation that gives people the opportunity to attend an event and experience this special mixture of praise and metalmusic.

The combination of metal and praise music is not commonplace. A christian live band will turn praisemusic (Bethel, Hillsong Music) into metal tracks. This band consists out of six members including a male and a female singer. The songs played by the band have a variety in style ranging from extreme metal with a grunt to styles like metalcore and melodic metal. The songs will be performed in Dutch as well as in English.

Nordic Mission is VERY proud and happy to announce that GROMS (God Rules Over My Soul) will play at this year’s NordicFest in Oslo, Norway!

This is a dream come true, since GROMS was among the very pioneers of Christian Extreme Metal in Norway and Europe, playing their pure heavy oldschool death metal.
GROMS released their only album “Ascension” in 1994, and the band has not performed live or even met together since 1996!That is also why it was a hard task finding a crisp picture of these fantastic musicians. Do NOT miss this!

Nordicfest  will be held in Oslo, Norway from 1-2nd of November. Other bands playing are: War of Ages (USA), Drottnar (NOR), Hortor (MEX), Opus Irae (GER), Antidemon (BRA), The Weakening (SWE) and Sawol (FIN). Continue reading »

The Brainstorm Festival has two nice additions. Both the Italian power-metal band Kalidia and the Polish gothic-wave band Metus can be seen in the Netherlands for the first time. Kalidia at the mainstage, Metus in the theatre.

No-one seems to be able to stop Kalidia anymore. The Italian band is on the rise in Europe with shows in Germany, England, Switzerland and of course Italy. Brainstorm Festival has the honour of being the first in the Netherlands to offer the band a stage. You bet the band around singer Nicoletta Rosellini will surprise you with modern, infectious power metal.

At least as special is the coming of Metus, the Polish band that has been releasing albums for many years but scarcely can be seen live. The band hasn’t played in the Netherlands before. Metus gives a performance in the theatre of the Brainstorm Festival. In other words, an environment that suits the melancholic gothic, doom and wave of the band. This promises to be a show not to be missed. Continue reading »

With the Swedish progressive metal band Darkwater, the Brainstorm Festival has brought in a great co-headliner for Saturday night. The band presents their new album “Human” in Apeldoorn. The Swiss gothic-doom rock band Askara will also be present at the festival.

Darkwater has a loyal fan base in the Netherlands. It was built up years ago with shows at ProgPower Europe and the Brainstorm Festival. Now the band returns to the Netherlands. Darkwater guarantees a high-quality live show that does justice to their great music.

The Swiss of Askara gained an international foothold last year. The band toured Europe that year as a support act for Sleeping Romance. The band was appreciated and a show at the Brainstorm Festival is the logical continuation.

With the arrival of Darkwater and Askara, the lineup of the Brainstorm Festival is almost complete. Three more artists will be announced in the near future. Continue reading »

The theatre programme of the Brainstorm Festival 2019 is increasingly taking shape. On Friday evening November 8th you can expect a special show of the Dutch gothic-rock band Blackbriar. A day later, the new Norwegian post-rock band Monograf will give their showpiece.

Blackbriar is a gem from the Dutch rock scene. Millions of people have already discovered the band on YouTube, but the final breakthrough is yet to come. At the Brainstorm Festival we would like to give the band a helping hand by offering them a beautiful stage.

The Norwegians of Monograf will be on stage on Saturday, November 9th. The post-rock band is breaking through in their own country, and that success is now getting a sequel to our festival. Anyone who has seen Leonov at work in recent years should not miss the Monograf show. Continue reading »
