Another winter and before the holiday season it was again time for another Christmas Rock Night. With this year’s line-up with allot of predictable bands but also some for CRN ‘new’ ones like For Today and End Of September. Although predicable I was eager to see Wolves at the Gate and Children 18:3 again because they both released a great new album. Continue reading »
August Burns Red landed in Eindhoven for their European tour 2012. Last time I saw them was at Groezrock 2011. That was just before the release of Leveler. They brought The Devil Wears Prada with them also my first show of them after the release of Dead Throne. They also brought Veil Of Maya with them after Whitechapel cancelled.
Freakstock is a Christian Alternative Festival organized by the German JesusFreaks and held in Borgentreich Germany. Freakstock started in 1995 and was held in Wiesbaden but since 2009 in some old barracks in Borgentreich. The festival presents many varieties of Christian music, workshops and seminars. But the festival has more activities to offer including paintball, a soccer competition, tattoo artist, different shops, art exhibition and more.
Once again, during April 6th, 7th and 8th, Vitória became the national capital of Christian Metal & Hardcore here in Brazil. In your 13th edition Metanoia Fest is already more than consolidated in the national calendar, referring specifically to Christian events that, unfortunately, are very scanty in our country.
The event took place at Centro de Referência da Juventude (CRJ) [EN: Youth Reference Center] and it was treated as charity, with food collection as entrance. Continue reading »
Saturday, November 26th, was the day of packing up my backpack and go to Vitória/ES and enjoy a rock music in the celebration of 12 years of Milicia Fest (Milicia Community). I was hoping to see Puritan after some (troubled, so to speak) events and also to see, for the first time, Antidemon playing live and hoping that, live, they were better than in the last album.
The place chosen for the event, “Centro de Referência da Juventude” [EN: “Youth Reference Center”], is easy to find and has a very cool structure/physical space for small events, as it was in this case. Continue reading »
With a great line-up Christmas Rock Night was again on our list to attend. This yearly Christian rock festival was founded in 1980 and this year held in Ennepetal Germany. I attended each year since 2007. We arrived after we left our baggage at our Youth Hostel. But first it was time to get something to eat.
This year’s Brainstorm Festival was held 4 and 5 November in club Gigant in Apeldoorn (The Netherlands). With a great line-up with again allot of different kinds of metal. Besides international and national bands the festival again offers exposition, a small metal market and an alternative program in the theater of the club. It was the fourth year already for this festival and I attended every year.

Rodent Emporium is an alternative punk band from Scotland that uses comedy and parodies to prick the pretentious bubble and excesses of those with too much self importance. Its pop punk that could be the result of Half Man Half Biscuit having a night out with Weird Al Yankovic. The band formed in 2005, but they didn’t start to get serious until 2007. They released their debut ‘Music Without Fear Of Reprimand’ in 2008 and followed it up with ‘Sports’ (2009) and ‘Kigo’ (2011). Besides performing on their home turf in Edinburgh and Glasgow, they have also made several appearances at the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Illinois. Continue reading »
