Label-mates Between the Buried and Me [BTBAM] and Job for a Cowboy [JFAC] have confirmed that they will be a part of the 2012 Summer Slaughter Tour alongside fellow Metal Blade Records artists Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore, and more. The full lineup is listed below. In addition to Summer Slaughter, BTBAM and JFAC will team up with Periphery for a handful of dates prior to the tour, as well as after the tour concludes. Dates confirmed include: July 16th in Sauget, IL and July 18th in Farmington, NM. The complete tour routing is listed below.

Between the Buried and Me is currently preparing to record their next full-length record, which will serve as the follow up to their Metal Blade debut, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues. The guys are returning to producer Jamie King to record, with art, track listing, and other details still to be revealed. The first installment of The Parallax served to advance the band’s status as one of the premiere progressive acts on the globe and Revolver Magazine claimed “Between the Buried and Me are on a level of songwriting skill that few bands can hope to reach, and their new EP epitomizes the band’s talent.” Metal Sucks lauds BTBAM as “one of the best and most influential prog metal bands on the planet.” The Parallax 2 is tentatively scheduled for release in the second half of 2012.

Earlier this month BTBAM announces that they will tour Europe in October in support of its new album, the details of which are forthcoming. Support on the trek will come from Periphery and The Safety Fire.   Dates are listed below.

Comments Between The Buried And Me bassist Dan Briggs: “I’m excited Europe wants to have us again! On this tour we’ll celebrate the release of our new album, so you’ll be some of the first to hear new songs… if we can actually play them by then!”

Between The Buried And Me‘s latest album, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues, was released on April 12, 2011 via Metal Blade Records. The three-song, 30-minute tour de force was recorded at Canada’s Metalworks Studios and Rattlebox Studios and helmed by the Grammy award–winning producer David Bottrill [Tool, Muse, King Crimson, Dream Theater].

The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues represents Between The Buried And Me‘s musical and conceptual masterwork; the record showcases both the quintet’s vivid execution and ambitious vision. The otherworldly conceptual thread linking each of the songs is mobilized around two human characters that live in different planes of existence and are separated by millions of light years, each confronted with similar personal issues. Subsequently, both characters make decisions that will change their lives, and perhaps the course of the universe, forever. Musically, the release presents aura-rich atmospheres rife with roaring volumes, corrugated rhythms and trance-inducing intricacies. Cerebral and visceral, soft and heavy, melodic and abrasive, tender and brutal, familiar and strange and taut yet sprawling and epic, Between The Buried And Mehas crafted a sound that is musically sophisticated yet primal and a disc where every new passage leads to the culmination of an epic adventure.
