Evanescence‘s self-titled third major label album sold 127,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart [Album review]. The band’s previous CD, “The Open Door”, opened with 447,000 units back in October 2006 to debut at No. 1.
The Open Door has shifted 2.1 million copies in the United States so far, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Evanescence‘s debut album, Fallen, has sold 7.6 million copies since its March 2003 release.
