Alter Bridge 2013Alter Bridge will enter the studio in January to begin recording the follow-up to 2013’s “Fortress”.

The band’s guitarist, Mark Tremonti, who is on tour with his solo group, tells “Metal Hammer Magazine Show” on TeamRock Radio that he will follow up the studio sessions with Alter Bridge by releasing the third Tremonti album “Dust” — which was recorded during the sessions for this year’s “Cauterize” — and hitting the road again with his solo band, before reconvening with Alter Bridge — which includes singer Myles Kennedy, who is also a member of Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators  — to tour for that band’s fifth CD.

Says Tremonti: “We’re gonna go in the studio in January, February and March to finish the fifth Alter Bridge album. It takes three or four months to set up an album, so after we’ve recorded the Alter Bridge record, me and Myles will go off and tour for four months doing Tremonti and Slash, then come back for a fall Alter Bridge fiesta.”

Regarding what fans can expect from the next Alter Bridge album, Tremonti says: “It could go in any direction. I’ve got a ton of ideas in all different styles. Last time, it was just one heavy idea after another and hopefully this time we can branch out and bring something new to the table.”

“Fortress” featured the Active Rock Top 15 single ‘Addicted To Pain’.
