This cultural rock- and metalfestival takes place Friday 2 and Saturday 3 November in club Gigant in the city Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. It’s the fifth anniversary for the festival, that will have a total of 15 international bands playing
Back in 2008 Seventh Angel headlined the first edition of Brainstorm Festival. The UK-legends of thrash/death return to Apeldoorn to bang your heads.
You want some metalcore, you get some metalcore! Oh, Sleeper from the USA – signed to Solid State Records – will create a huge moshpit during the festival.
Fans of mediterranean power-metal will be pleased with the return of Thy Majestie. The band recently inked a new record-deal with Scarlet Records and will present new songs.
Another rockin’ artist is The Letter Black from the USA. Female fronted heavy rock, signed to legendary Tooth & Nail Records and for the very first time in The Netherlands!
We are pleased to have two of the recent highlights of Progpower Europe on stage: In Mourning (2011) and Myrath (2010) already built a strong fanbase in The Netherlands. With their new album ‘The Weight Of Oceans’ (Spinefarm Records) Swedish progressive death-metal band In Mourning is currently having their breakthrough. They might become the festival-surprise! Same for Myrath, all the way from Tunisia! They bring you oriental progressive heavy metal, an unique sound and catchy songwriting, as seen on tour with Orphaned Land!
They’ve toured The Netherlands several years ago, but after a long period of silence Swedish melodic death-metal band Taketh is back to life! We are pleased to offer them a stage!
Surprise surprise! Fans will remember the farewell show of Morphia, one of Hollands’ leading doom-metal bands. Several members now continu with their new band It Never Rains. Exclusive debut-show!
Brainstorm Festival is known as an independent cultural rock- and metalfestival, that provides a stage to both new talent as well as metal-dinosaurs. The festival combines hardrock with extreme metal. Besides concerts Brainstorm Festival offers a program in the theater of the club with acoustic performances, interviews, debate and competitions. Also there is an exposition taking place each year, plus a small metal-market.
