‘Rapture’, the new video from the metalcore act Underøath. can be seen below. The song is taken from the band’s sixth album, “Erase Me”, which will be releaed on April 6 via Fearless Records.

“I think we really wanted to capture something different with this video,” said guitar player Tim McTague. “The song is so unique for Underøath and we have always been a visual band. I think being able to tell a visual story with an audible narrative that ties everything together is one of the things that makes Underøath special to fans. We are stoked to see the reaction.”

“Erase Me” was written and recorded over the summer of 2017 with producer Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco3OH!3) and mixed by Ken Andrews (Failure, Jimmy Eat World). Continue reading »

Fresh from a successful Kickstarter campaign, symphonic power metal band Silent Saga have combined all songs of previously released ep’s onto one CD

Some bands seemingly come from out of nowhere to make a statement, and that’s the feeling I get from Silent Saga.  The band currently is based in Hamburg, Germany by way of Brazil where vocalist Sabrina Todt and multi-instrumentalist Renato Angelo moved from in 2014.  The band  as it is, formed out of the Brazilian band Amazon, who has shared stages with heavyweights in the genre such as Nightwish and Epica.  In 2016, Todt and Angelo added Alex Mancini on guitar and drummer Daniel Sapcu to form the current Silent Saga lineup.  The band’s material on Rise has been previously released on three ep’s, Ball of Vanities, Immortal, and The Path.  For all three, production was handled by Sander Gommans (After Forever), Ivo Van DIjk (Xystus, Karmaflow), and Amanda Somerville (Avantasia).   Other interesting pieces of information on the songs are that some musicians from the former band Amazon were involved, with producer Sander Gommans adding some guitars and guitar solos, Andre Pedral on bass, and drums by Marcos Frassao, who recorded them in Brazil.

As I’ve written reviews, I’ve noted many times how sheltered I must be from good music as I’ll often get bands that are so good I should have heard them before receiving an album to review.  Silent Saga fits nicely into that category.  Rise (and by default their ep’s) is a great album for those who appreciate symphonic, power metal.  Continue reading »

TesseracT have released a video for the new single ‘King‘, featured on their fourth studio album “Sonder,” out on April 20th via Kscope.

The emotive and viscerally challenging clip was directed by Kyle Kadow and Steven Cleavland and shot in a snowy Wisconsin following a brutal storm, which all added to the atmospheric footage.

As bassist Amos Williams explains, “We have been very lucky to work with two cinematographers of such vision and quality as Kyle and Steven. We gave them free reign with the creation of the first story board. They chose to explore the theme of claustrophobia and how fear can control our lives – using a luminary figure as a beacon of hope and escape for the characters.” Continue reading »

Being in a band focused on positivity, belief, and social change is a privilege. I’m grateful for the opportunity and ecstatic for what we have coming up in the future.”

Hayden has given us a renewed passion for what we do and why we do it,” the band comments. “We feel like he is the absolute best fit for this band and we couldn’t be more excited for the new direction we’re headed.”
